Raised in a small town in Kansas, at the age of ten I spent every Saturday afternoon in the local yarn shop learning how to knit. As I look back, I realize what my attraction was to that quaint hobby shop. It was the backroom. A room filled with shelves full of yarns of every color and texture. I spent many years working in the graphic arts and introducing myself to various art mediums and still I found myself searching for my creative passion. Then I discovered the art of feltmaking. An art that combined my love of color, pattern and texture with my early childhood love of "fiber", first discovered in that backroom of the tiny yarn shop in Kansas.
